Stand Up Comedian, Triple J Presenter and Channel Ten's The Project Metro Whipper, 21 year old Ciaran Lyons, is one of the fastest rising comedians in the country.
Voted by The Sunday Times as one of WA's Hottest 100 People of 2016 along with Troye Sivan and Danny Green, performances at Splendour in the Grass "Wil Anderson and Friends" show, Triple J's Good Az Friday, ABC Comedy Bites Gala and supporting some of the countries finest - Lawrence Mooney, Sammy J and Randy, Lehmo, Akmal and Nazeem Hussain...aswell as regularly presenting on national media outlets, Lyons keeps a busy schedule.
Since winning "Next Gen Comedian" (PICF 2013), Ciaran has gone on to perform in prestigious events including the ABC Comedy Bites Gala, Comedy Under the Stars (4000 People), Hit929 Purple Day Brala, Hit929 Stand Up For Hayden Gala, Hosted the "The Dollop" Stand Up Show with Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds, Beyond Blue Gala - His Majesty's Theatre 2014/2015, The Shelf (MICF), Stand Up to MS Gala and Rottofest three years in a row on the comedy mainstage opening for the likes of Joel Creasey and Troy Kinne.
The following year he was nominated for "Best Comedy" at Perth Fringe Festival 2015, and was selected to perform in Melbourne International Comedy Festivals "Comedy Zone" - a showcase of five up and coming Australian Comedians. He has since relocated to Sydney.
Aswell as regularly performing at all the major comedy venues across Australia, Lyons is also an in demand MC for various events and corporate functions. These include WA HyperFest Music Festival Mainstage (with acts such as Allday, Amy Shark and Nicole Millar), Peking Duk's Melbourne Clothing Launch Event and WA Raw Comedy Final 2017.
2017 has also shaped up to be a big year for the 20 year old, making his solo debut at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival with great success - he also did a string of shows with the Sydney Comedy Festival roadshow. The year concluded with Ciaran filling in for "Ben and Liam" over the summer, hosting Triple J Breakfast across Australia.
